Our Wildfire Work in Whistler
At Frontera, we are working to support wildfire management in Whistler through forest thinning and fuel reduction projects. On the prevention side, we work with and support the RMOW's FireSmart program by educating Whistler citizens about fire ignition and wildfire risk.
We also support the efforts of the RMOW in their emergency management program – including wildfire preparedness, wildfire detection and response, evacuation planning, firefighting/tactical planning and emergency response.
This article points to the importance of wildfire management, prevention and emergency management all working together to develop Whistler's wildfire resiliency. We are happy to see that many Whistler citizens support our efforts towards this end.
More work is still needed, but we are prepared to take this on!
