Alongside a strong background in forest, atmospheric, and biogeochemical science, Joe has over 9 years of experience working with GIS and remote sensing technologies. With a MSc from the University of British Columbia, his unique skill set strongly reinforces his understanding of factors contributing to fire risk and of fire behaviour patterns.
Work in Joe’s career has been technical. He is incredibly knowledgeable in the application of a wide array of remote sensing data types including satellite imagery and point clouds obtained from LiDAR and photogrammetry. Joe continues to grow at Frontera where he oversees the company’s GIS needs. Joe also carries out wildfire behaviour analysis to further assist in forest management decisions for wildfire risk reduction.
In Joe’s spare time he enjoys hiking, cooking, playing video games, and folding origami.
