Happy Holidays from Frontera

Our last post for 2023 as we wish you all the best through the holiday season and into the year ahead.

Happy Holidays from Frontera

Wrapping up 2023 at Frontera Forest Solutions

It's been an eventful year at Frontera, with lots of learnings, growth and new projects.

We'd like to wish all of our friends, colleagues, partners and family members a wonderful holiday season full of joy, and look forward to talking more about forestry and wildfire in the year ahead.

Until then, read on to learn more about how we're wrapping up 2023.

New Projects

We're closing out the new year looking forward to a couple of new projects in 2024:

Thompson Rivers Resource District

We will be assisting the TRRD in the development of a Landscape-level Assessment Wildfire Plan and a Fuel Management Prescription. The area of focus will be a roughly 6,000 ha area surrounding the Hat Creek Historic Ranch.

We are very much looking forward to working to support the application of good fire on the land.

McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest

We have been rehired by the McLeod Lake Mackenzie Community Forest (MLMCF) to support their wildfire mitigation and climate resiliency planning and implementation along Highway 39.

In addition, we will be at the 2024 BC Community Forest Association Conference & AGM hosted by the MLMCF in Mackenzie, BC.

Month in Review

Reducing Wildfire on the Sunshine Coast

In mid-November, Nick Soverel and Mac Montgomery spoke at a public event in Sechelt, BC about the work we're doing for the Sunshine Coast Community Forest. Read more here.

New Professional Chapters

We recently said goodbye to Joe Rakofsky, who worked for Frontera for almost three years. We all wish him the best in his next professional chapter.

Celebrating Together

We had an eventful month celebrating a successful year together and leaning into the holiday spirit. We celebrated the month at Nuba in Vancouver's Gastown district (with a little karaoke afterwards) and recently toasted the holidays with a home-cooked roast and friendly round of Yankee Swap.
