Our team can provide assessments of extreme heat and cold and areas of concern within a community. We can adjust these based on climate projections to help build resilient communities.

Proactive forest planning

Climate resilience planning is a decision to be proactive. It is a mechanism that allows forest managers the ability to respond to climate change rather than to react to it.

We have provided climate resilience services to multiple clients, including community forests. Through this process, we work with community forests to predict and provide long-term solutions to a local community forest’s likely impacts from climate change.

Many of the effects include changes in wildfire behaviour (see Figure 1) and activity but they can also include changes in windthrow and forest health. Through this process we can better prepare our clients for future climate, and design operational plans and silviculture strategies accordingly.
