Frontera specializes in helping clients navigate the various funding programs available to build community resilience, including Indigenous Services Canada (ISC) and First Nations Emergency Services Society (FNESS), Community Resiliency Investment (CRI), and the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund (DMAF), among others. These programs can be complex and sophisticated, with application requirements that can require professional forestry expertise and mapping. We have staff that are deeply familiar with these programs and their requirements. We have helped dozens of communities access funding for wildfire risk mitigation over the past few years, assisting with funding applications resulting in over $6 million dollars in funding for communities in need.

Following the 2023 wildfire season Nak’azdli Whut’en wanted to do more to ensure the safety of our community members. Frontera Forest Solutions stepped up to the plate and worked with us to make our CRI FireSmart Grant application successful. With their guidance and support we were able to expedite the grant process and successfully submit a grant application in time to start our FireSmart program before the wildfire season.
