We build wildfire prediction models used by teams across Canada. Our visualizations show how wildfire spreads across a landscape, laid out in a way that's quick and easy to understand – even without a background in fire science. Take a look at what that looks like in practice.

Burn Probability
Burn probability is calculated as the number of times a cell burns, divided by the number of iterations (fire seasons) in the model. Burn probability maps tell you about the likelihood of fire in any given season. In other words, it is how flammable any area is in comparison to the areas around it.
By understanding the areas with high likelihood of burning, we can then prioritize and plan mitigation. If you'd like to know more, or have access to more detailed burn probability information, we want to hear from you!

The above map is a representation of possible wildfire threat and is not intended to tell you the answer or tell you where or how a current wildfire will burn. It is meant to portray the likelihood of wildfire occurrence and spread. This information needs to be used in consultation with one of our professional foresters at Frontera.
