Meagan Warkentin

Meagan completed her BSc Honours in Forest Ecology at the University of Winnipeg.

​Since then, she worked as a Forestry Technician and Forest Health Inspector for Manitoba Forestry and carried out research at Wilfrid Laurier University focused on post-wildfire forest regeneration.
​
Meagan started at Frontera in June 2021 as Forestry Operations Manager and has since been promoted to Chief Operations Officer. Meagan continues to work as a forestry consultant and loves getting out to do field work, but has transitioned to higher-level oversight of all aspects of Frontera’s operations, ensuring that long-term goals are achieved. Meagan is passionate about implementing strong protocols that maximize efficiency and quality of work. She is also the point person for Frontera’s grant-writing services and is committed to advocating for communities seeking funding for wildfire resiliency projects.

When Meagan isn’t working she can be found at pottery class, picking out the nicest local veggies at a farmer’s market, or hanging out with her two very adorable cats Finnegan and Barnaby!
